Juice Inc. Hosts Event Focused on Achieving Improved Business Results Through Emotional Engagement in the Workplace

GUELPH, Ontario — Oct. 5, 2010 — Join Juice Inc. for an evening of networking and conversation, and learn how triggering emotional engagement releases 400 percent more discretionary effort than triggering rational engagement.

Juice specializes in helping organizations improve effective communication, collaboration and performance. Juice will host the “Love at Work” book launch on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 from 3 to 6 p.m. Eastern time at The Living Arts Centre Mississauga in Ontario.

The event will be an opportunity to network and hear Brady Wilson, Juice co-founder, talk about how leaders can re-humanize the workplace and create cultures that flourish. Wilson will challenge conventional wisdom and focus on the notion that emotional engagement, which involves engaging people’s hearts and their feelings, trumps rational engagement, which involves meeting the intellectual needs of their minds.

Attendees will learn how to build cultures where people are inspired to deliver great business outcomes. Wilson is an expert on how conversation affects organizational energy to create dynamic results. He has been called upon internationally and locally by clients to help them use a “conversational operating system” to overcome insurmountable challenges and achieve unprecedented results.

Wilson will be available following the keynote for a book signing of “Love at Work.” Released in June 2010, “Love at Work: Why Passion Drives Performance in the Feelings Economy,” focuses on how emotional engagement in the workplace can lead to improved business results.

Love, as defined in the book, is the process of extending oneself to invest in another’s highest good. Every unit of effort a leader or manager spends evoking this type of emotional engagement pays them back four times in releasing discretionary effort. Discretionary effort is the difference in the level of effort one is capable of bringing to an activity or task versus the effort required to simply get by or make do. The results can be measured by increased employee productivity, retention and improved communication.

As part of the event, and in an effort to infuse the concept of “Love” in the business environment, Juice will donate 50 percent of book sales to Opportunity International. Opportunity International is an organization that provides microfinance loans, savings, insurance and training to over two million people working their way out of poverty in the developing world.
