Kelly Services® Expands Eligibility of Supplier Insurance Program to include Independent Contractors

TROY, Mich. (July 1, 2011) – Kelly Services today announced the expansion of its Supplier Insurance Program to include eligibility by Independent Contractors. The program offers affordable, contract-specific coverage that enables small and mid-sized secondary suppliers to secure the required insurance limits needed to maintain or initiate business in Kelly-managed staffing arrangements.

Launched in 2009, Kelly Services became the first staffing firm to offer excess general liability and/or third-party crime insurance through a partnership with the American Staffing Assurance Company (ASAC). The Supplier Insurance Program was initially offered to Kelly’s secondary and managed supplier partners and was developed to provide an affordable insurance alternative to suppliers who might otherwise have been prevented from doing business with major corporations.

Since the program’s launch, more than 25 percent of Kelly’s programs, with a supplier component, have suppliers who utilize the Supplier Insurance Program. To date, more than 100 policies have been issued. The success of the program has not only paved the way to expand the program’s eligibility to independent contractors or “consultants”, but also provides Kelly’s customers access to a broader pool of quality talent.

The Supplier Insurance Program demonstrates commitment by Kelly to its secondary supplier base and is a comprehensive product offering with a competitive pricing model. Among the benefits of the program are:

• The availability of either excess liability or primary third-party crime coverage.
• A low annual cost to maintain coverage.
• Underwritten by a well-respected insurance provider — ASAC through Lloyd’s of London.
• Strategic — suppliers can add the Supplier Insurance Program to their existing insurance in order to improve their current insurance coverage.
