Employment Background Investigations, Inc (EBI) Chief Knowledge Officer, Robert Capwell, will present a session at the HR Florida State Council Conference in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, August 31st at 10:30 am titled – Critical Background Screening Resources for HR Professionals in Florida.
Discussion topics within Mr. Capwell’s presentation will include searching criminal records and sex offender databases in the state, an overview of education and employment fraud, and using social media for screening. Capwell’s presentation will also highlight the complexities of navigating state and EEOC regulations for proper compliance as well as following FCRA guidance when conducting background checks. Richard Kurland, President and CEO, stated that, “EBI keeps its clients informed on all of these risks and obstacles in the hiring process by providing regular online updates on employment background screening legislation and best practices to stay compliant.”
