HealthFitness announces new Science and Analytics director to support health and productivity research agenda

MINNEAPOLIS, MN Nov. 22, 2011- HealthFitness announced today that Terry Khan, MSE, has joined the company as director of Science and Analytics operations. Khan will work closely with the Science and Analytics team of experts in exercise physiology, clinical psychology and health education to apply a rigorous scientific process to the company’s integrated population health management approach.  

Khan brings a wealth of professional experience in performance improvement, clinical quality and patient safety, program development, and community health improvement. The new position will include support of ongoing research to improve processes and systems. It also involves working with the HealthFitness Science Advisory Board, which brings together leading independent, nationally recognized experts in areas such as nutrition and obesity, exercise and fitness, behavior change, outcomes research and managed care. Khan will also support research carried out in conjunction with partners such as the Care Continuum Alliance, as well as projects that analyze the impact of HealthFitness’ own worksite-based programs in employee health and productivity management.

Khan comes to HealthFitness from Value Health Partners, where she led performance-improvement change management for eight health systems in Michigan. She has held corporate leadership positions within Henry Ford Health System, Massachusetts General Hospital, Spectrum Health System and Trinity Health System. She earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering/operations research from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a master’s degree in engineering management/computer and information systems from Northeastern University, Boston.
