Secova Webinar Educates on Current Compliance Challenges

Newport Beach, Calif./Nov. 29, 2011 — Secova Inc., a leading provider of health and welfare benefits administration services, will share vital compliance information in the upcoming webinar, “Keeping Up With the Quickly Changing Compliance Landscape.”

The webinar, to be held Tuesday, December 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. PST, will address the difficulties benefits administrators and HR professionals face as they manage and adhere to complex compliance regulations and rapidly shifting benefits programs—particularly in light of health care reform.

The webinar provides guidance on key compliance issues, including:

-Why a dependent eligibility audit could help with ERISA compliance
-The specific leave benefits relatives of military members are entitled to
-Which provisions of the new health care legislation will go into effect in 2012—and how they affect employers

Subject matter experts Karen Kerns and Chirayu V. Patel will discuss the challenges HR leaders face in administering benefits in today’s rapidly changing world of benefits.  Together,  Karen and Chirayu will offer guidance to help webinar attendees meet legal requirements related to the latest changes in health care reform.

Karen is the Internal Compliance Director at Secova.  She has advised the public and private sector on all aspects of benefit administration, including optimal operational and administrative design, as well as advising companies of the due diligence necessary for employee benefit issues. Karen has presented at the National Retail Federation’s Human Resources Executives Summit, helping employers understand how to implement new administrative procedures to meet the new requirements from recently passed legislative measures for COBRA. With a focus on process improvements, her experience provides insight to enhancing current processes to accommodate future business needs while ensuring client needs and requirements are represented.

Chirayu, Secova’s senior director of relationship management, has worked in the benefits administration space for over nine years. During that time he has been involved in everything from service delivery to technology development and delivery. He and his team are focused on designing best-in-class benefit administration solutions for employers with complex administration processes.  Prior to his current role, he provided technological vision and leadership within Secova’s Technology group. In that role, he was responsible for delivery of the technology platform apparatus used within Secova’s overall services.
