Ottawa Business Woman Dr. Suzanne Simpson Nominated as a Finalist for Businesswoman of the Year Award

Ottawa, CAN/March 9, 2012 – At the nomination luncheon, held on March 8th in Canada’s national capital, award finalists were presented across three categories. HRSG’s Suzanne Simpson was a previous finalist in the entrepreneur category in 2006, but due to the success of her company, represents the corporate category for 2012. “It’s an honour to be nominated again, this time in the corporate category, and I am humbled to be able to represent woman in this category,” says Dr. Simpson upon the finalists being announced.

Representing the only HR firm among the nominees, Dr. Simpson founded HRSG over twenty two years ago, to provide strategic human resource services, training and products in order to help client achieve a skilled, engaged and productive workforce. Since 1989, she has grown the business to an international corporation with a partner network all across the globe delivering HRSG products and services. In her capacity as leader, Dr. Simpson provides the vision, strategic direction and inspiration for HRSG’s continuing success, respect and customer loyalty.

In addition to her corporate success, as an Officer in the Canadian Forces, Dr. Simpson played a major role in expanding women’s opportunities through the research and development of programs/policies that will forever impact the role of women in the Canadian Forces. After leaving the forces, Dr. Simpson actively lobbied to expand women’s opportunities, culminating in her being called as an expert witness in a history-making human rights case that resulted in the Canadian Forces being ordered to provide women with the full range of career opportunities enjoyed by their male counterparts – including combat duties in front-line operations.

Winners in each of the three categories will be announced at the WBN’s gala dinner on April 12, 2012.
