National Recruitment Firm Decision Toolbox (DT) Expands Its Vetted Vets Team in Time for July 4th

Irvine, Calif. — Decision Toolbox, a nationwide provider of project based hiring and on-demand Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) is expanding its newest program, “Vetted Vets,” to coincide with July 4th.

“Launched several months ago on Memorial Day, “Vetted Vets” is a program designed to bring a pool of pre-qualified veterans and quality job opportunities together,” says Kim Shepherd, CEO of Decision Toolbox. “Our newest “Vetted Vets” team members include Jim Gitney of Group50 Consulting and Dave Harder of Inspired Work – both are helping us drive this initiative to the next level.”

At the annual Society for Human Resource Conference (SHRM) Conference last week in Atlanta, Decision Toolbox “Vetted Vets” team members, led by Shepherd, donned “Vetted Vets” camouflage T-shirts and dog tags to help highlight the key benefits of hiring vets:

• The feeling of satisfaction and positive reputation that results from doing the right thing.
• Vets make highly valuable employees through their reliability, dedication, loyalty, leadership skills and team attitude.
• Tax incentives are available to employers for hiring veterans. The credit ranges from $2,400 for hiring veterans who have been looking for a job for more than four weeks to $9,600 for hiring veterans with service-connected disabilities who have been looking for a job longer than six months.

“Many companies may be theoretically committed to hiring vets, but they are not sure how to find them, how their skills are transferable to available opportunities, or how to integrate and support them once hired. That’s why we have developed our “Vetted Vets” program, “says Kim Shepherd, CEO of Decision Toolbox, to help streamline the process of getting our vets back to work.

“The existing candidate glut, primarily created by the recession, will soon be further flooded with nearly one million vets with the pull back of troops by the U.S. military around the globe, “explains Shepherd.

“For younger troops, aged 18-24 years old, the unemployment rate is currently 13.1% for males and 21.6% for females – – nearly double and triple the unemployment numbers respectively for non-veterans. Adding to the list of challenges felt by young vets is their apparent lack of job experience, career direction, and low confidence in their ability to thrive in the civilian workforce.”
