July 25, 2013–Scottsdale, Ariz. and London, UK–Leaders from ARM Holdings, Turning Point and WorldPay are just a few of the speakers confirmed for “Future Reward: Strategies for a Hyper-Competitive World,” a special summit hosted by WorldatWork, The University of Cambridge and e-reward.co.uk. Nearly 80 reward executives from the region will convene for a full day at Downing College, University of Cambridge on 24 September 2013 to discuss the future of reward.

The University of Cambridge will serve as the venue for the one-day event at the Judge Business School, one of the world’s leading business schools known for its focus on strong interdisciplinary networks linking the university, business and policy community.

“Workplaces around the world are undergoing fundamental strategic and organizational changes,” explained Adam Sorensen, GRP, global practice leader for WorldatWork, a nonprofit human resources association. “Reward practitioners need to stay ahead of this change to support new ways of working and managing. We plan to bring practitioners together with policymakers and academics to reflect on the future role, form and function of reward.”

Today’s business environment is becoming increasingly complex and dynamic, and the way people are rewarded will need to adapt to these changes. Contemporary approaches seek to use pay as a lever to closely align valuable human capital to the strategic direction of an organization.

“In the not-so-distant future, pay will and should be managed as a risk with a clear focus on protecting value, while enabling effective leadership as the best means of securing alignment,” said Jonathan Trevor, Ph.D., University of Cambridge. “Our hope is that the Reward Summit will inspire and enable reward practitioners to proactively address the changing dynamics by strengthening the link between practitioner and academic perspectives.”

A partial list of confirmed speakers for “Future Reward: Strategies for a Hyper-Competitive World” include:
– Bill Parsons, Independent Director of Andor Technologies plc, Chairman of The Cambridge Network and former VP Human Resources, ARM Holdings Plc
– RenĂ© Broekhuis, Vice President, Compensation & Benefits, UCB
– Anne Ruddy, CCP, President of WorldatWork
