New Research Shows Most Leaders Are Not Communicating Their Vision

According to a new interactive chart published by Leadership IQ, only 23% of workers say that their leader Always “clearly explains their vision for the future” while a whopping 27% of workers say that their leader Never “clearly explains their vision for the future.”

This data comes from 20,216 responses to Leadership IQ’s public Employee Engagement Survey during the first quarter of 2014. This assessment asks 100+ questions about various aspects of leadership and organizational life and is available for free to employees and leaders from any organization.

While the overall results are troubling, Leadership IQ has published an interactive chart that shows how employees of various ages answer this question. For example, only 10% of employees ages 18-24 say that their leader Always “clearly explains their vision for the future” while 39% say that their leader Never “clearly explains their vision for the future.”
