Enterprising Women Welcomes Tammy Cohen to Advisory Board

Marietta, GA, July 14, 2015 – Tammy Cohen, President & Founder of InfoMart, has been appointed to serve on the Enterprising Women advisory board by CEO Monica Smiley. The board is comprised of a select group of women and men who support the publication and give back to the women business owners’ community by providing leadership, motivation, and inspiration to thousands of women entrepreneurs across North America and around the world.

“Strong leadership experience, entrepreneurial knowledge and business backgrounds will be extremely beneficial and valuable to our readers,” said Smiley.

According to Cohen, “This is an exciting time to be a woman in business. The glass ceiling is breaking and women are gaining ground in every industry. However, a barrier of entry still exists in the ability of Women-Owned Businesses to develop and scale their organizations to handle the technical complexity required in competing for major contracts. Enterprising Women Magazine is an organization that successfully prepares women for all stages of business growth.”

In 1989, Cohen co-founded InfoMart, a multi-million dollar pre-employment screening company that provides services to Fortune 500 companies nationwide. InfoMart has been recognized on Security Magazine’s Security 500 list since 2009, on Workforce Magazine’s Hot List since 2006, and as one of “Atlanta’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” since 2013.

As a recognized expert in the employment screening industry, Cohen is often referred to as “The Queen of Screen.” In addition, she was influential in the founding of the screening industry’s first trade association, the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS).

Cohen is actively involved in a number of business and civic organizations and has received numerous honors, most notably a commendation in the 152nd Congressional Record for a rescue mission during Hurricane Katrina, the YWCA of the USA Entrepreneur of the Year award, an Enterprising Magazine Woman of the Year award, and the Phenomenal Women Award from the Siegel Institute.

“To be a part of the Enterprising Women’s Advisory Council is an honor,” said Cohen. “I look forward to the opportunity of working closely with the organization.”
