HealthcareSource Annual User Conference Highlights Client Success and Industry Thought Leaders

Woburn, MA – November 17, 2014 – HealthcareSource, the leading provider of talent management solutions for the healthcare industry, hosted its annual user conference October 25-28, 2015 at Rosen Centre, Orlando, FL. The Talent Symposium event, attended by more than 300 healthcare human resources, learning, and organizational development professionals, featured four days of education, product updates, and networking events.

The conference featured general session presentations by HealthcareSource executives discussing key trends in the healthcare industry and the impact talent management solutions have on hiring and retention. Guest keynote presenters Ethan Brosowsky, director and national spokesperson for The Advisory Board, talked about the future of the healthcare industry and the importance of adapting to this evolution and Jay Kuhns, SPHR, talked about redefining talent and the future of social recruiting. The audience also enjoyed a fun, interactive session from Improv Asylum, who did some improvisational exercises with clients designed to show how to improve workplace communication and collaboration.

The conference also featured more than twenty client presentations by HR, performance, and learning leaders from Avera Health, Charleston Area Medical Center, Crouse Hospital, Finger Lakes Health, Great Plains Health, Huntsville Hospital Health System, Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Scottsdale Shea Medical Center, and many more. Attendees crave content from their peers and this year’s event was designed to give practitioners more opportunity to showcase their successes and share their accomplishments with their peers.

“Learning from my fellow practitioners is one of the most valuable aspects of Talent Symposium,” said Darla Burton, director of recruitment at Mary Washington Healthcare. “Not only do we get to hear first-hand how other talent management professionals are addressing the challenges we face, but we get to collaborate on how we plan to continue to address workforce issues as healthcare continues to evolve.”

“Networking with other learning professionals gives me the opportunity to think about how my team is managing the challenges associated with talent education and development,” said Cheryl Prall, director of training at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. “And interacting with recruitment and HR professionals also provides different perspectives that are extremely worthwhile.”

Attendees participated in hands-on training sessions with HealthcareSource staff, earned continuing education credits, networked with peers, and explored the exhibit hall to learn more about complementary talent management solutions and services from industry partners American Heart Association, AppCast, the American Society for Health Care Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA), CareerArc, CareerBuilder, Certiphi Screening, experiencedRN, HCPro, Katon Direct, Kronos, Lean Human Capital, Monster, the National Association for Health Care Recruiters (NAHCR), JobTarget, Skillsoft, and Universal Background Screening, who also co-sponsored the client appreciation event at Universal Studios Orlando.

“This year’s Talent Symposium event was definitely our best ever,” said Michael DiPietro, chief marketing officer at HealthcareSource. “The interaction and collaboration between clients, partners, and staff was at the highest level I’ve seen in terms of engagement and strategy, and it was very exciting to see the cross-functional collaboration across attendees in recruiting, HR, learning, and OD.”
