Businessolver Announces Receipt of IRS Certificate for ACA Electronic Filing

West Des Moines, Iowa (November 19, 2015) – Businessolver, a leading benefits administration technology company, today announced the company has received official notification from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that it is now an “Approved Transmitter,” allowing the electronic filing of compliance documents to the Affordable Care Act Information Returns (AIR) program on behalf of its clients.

Though the AIR program is expected to go live in late 2015, February 2016 marks the first reporting deadline for companies with more than 50 people to file corresponding ACA compliance documents. Failure to meet this deadline could result in costly penalties from the IRS.

Though vendors are able to file manually with no authorization, in order to be able to file via the more expedited electronic method, IRS certification is necessary. Additionally, electronic filing is required for organizations that have 250 or more people.
