100 Attorneys Journey to Cleveland, Rock Hall for Annual Conference on Group and Prepaid Legal Services

CHICAGO — April 11, 2012 — The American Prepaid Legal Services Institute (API) will hold its annual conference in Cleveland, May 3 – 5, 2012, and is expected to bring more than 100 attorneys and prepaid legal plan administrators to Northeast Ohio. Headquartered in Chicago, API is an affiliate of the American Bar Association and a professional trade organization representing the group and prepaid legal services industry. Group and prepaid legal services are often available as part of an employee benefits program but are also sold to consumers on an individual basis. API’s mission is to advance the industry by providing leadership, education and representation in the public interest.

“Having the API annual conference in Cleveland is great for the city and for the organization,” said Robert Dzik, president of API and assistant general counsel at Hyatt Legal Plans, a long-time corporate member of the organization. “Members will have opportunities to enjoy the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, excellent Cleveland restaurants, entertainment, parks and museums, along with all the other wonderful things the city has to offer,” said Dzik.

API regularly offers a variety of educational opportunities, including the annual conference, which is always hosted in a different U.S. city. During the conference, attendees will learn about the latest trends in the group and prepaid legal services field and have networking opportunities. The conference includes sessions on the state of the industry, partnering with legal services providers, running a more efficient attorney practice, improving customer service with technology, blogging tips, as well as updates on tax law and reverse mortgages.
