WEST DES MOINES, IA – Businessolver will receive the prestigious Abracadabra Award from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa at the annual Make-A-Wish Des Moines gala on April 5. The award is given to organizations that create a magical, unique experience for a wish family, or for going the extra distance to make what seems impossible, possible.
In 2013, Businessolver was matched with Clark, a seven-year-old with cancer, through the Make-A-Wish Adopt-A-Wish(R) program. While Clark was undergoing chemotherapy, he would image a place he called “Blah-blah Land.” “Blah-blah Land” was a magical place with chocolate rivers and strawberry mountains. For Clark’s Adopt-A-Wish party, Businessolver re-created “Blah- blah Land” for Clark and his family, complete with chocolate rivers and strawberry mountains, just as Clark had imagined. Businessolver also provided Clark and his brother, Gabe, backpacks filled with goodies for their upcoming trip to Disney World. It was a magical day at Businessolver, not only for Clark and his family, but for the Businessolver family as well.
Brooke Knight, Vice President of Client Services and the executive sponsor of the Make-A-Wish event at Businessolver, was overwhelmed by the passion that Businessolver employees put into making the event a success. “It feels good to work for a company with employees who really care and are passionate about giving back,” said Knight.
