Health Care Consumerism Thought Leader to Share Key Insights at Ceridian Conference

ATLANTA—As U.S. businesses continue to face steep economic challenges, reducing health care spend has become top-of-mind for human resources professionals and C-level executives across the country. Doug Field, founder and CEO of The Institute for HealthCare Consumerism (IHC), will offer these employers proven strategies for cutting health and benefit costs while increasing employee engagement and complying with the Affordable Care Act at Ceridian’s INSIGHTS 2012 conference. The event will be held on July 22-26 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.

Field, along with Ceridian Senior Product Manager Ernie Harris, will present “Best Practices for Health Care Consumerism to Lower Costs.” A cutting-edge business strategy, health care consumerism can include the adoption of health savings accounts, incentive programs, flexible spending accounts and corporate wellness initiatives—all of which have are known to reduce health care costs and improve employee wellbeing.

This groundbreaking session promises to show attendees how to determine where their companies are on the consumer-directed health care continuum, discover proven strategies to lower health care costs and empower employees, and understand how consumerism strategies are used with wellness initiatives to achieve even greater cost savings.

These strategies will be explored even further at the IHC’s FORUM West conference in Las Vegas on September 6-7, the industry’s premiere gathering of employers, consumerism experts, Washington insiders and brokers. FORUM West remains the only event solely dedicated to innovative health and benefit management.  Its counterpart, IHC FORUM East, saw a record number of attendees in Atlanta last April.

“I’m honored to be part of this year’s INSIGHTS conference,” says Field. “It’ll be exciting to offer employers a taste of the best practices and cost-saving strategies we’ll be exploring at FORUM West this September. With the advent of the Affordable Care Act, it’s even more crucial that businesses get a handle on skyrocketing health care costs. The IHC is proud to present real, actionable solutions to the issues that keep HR managers up at night.”
