Hodes iQ Underwrites Leading Talent Acquisition Strategies Benchmark Report

New research from Aberdeen Group showcases the importance of candidate experience and relationship management

NEW YORK, NY— SEPTEMBER 29, 2010 — Hodes iQ, Bernard Hodes Group’s award-winning talent acquisition and management product, is underwriting the distribution of new research from leading Human Capital Management firm, Aberdeen Group. The benchmark study, titled “Talent Acquisition Strategies 2010: Candidate Experience and Relationship Management Come of Age” profiles nearly 400 corporate HR and talent leaders to better understand how to build a more strategic talent acquisition and recruiting practice.

The report found that top performing companies successfully hired 87% of their top choice candidates, versus only 55% among other organizations, while simultaneously lowering time to fill by 6% year-over-year. Key factors to this are the mapping of talent needs to the long-term goals of the business, as well as cultivating relationships with top prospects regardless of current hiring needs.

Not surprisingly, a “positive candidate experience from the first visit to the company’s website through the interview process” was rated by the Best-in-Class companies as one of the two most valuable contributors to their employer brand. The results also found that nine in 10 Best-in-Class organizations provide hiring managers visibility into candidate status during the recruitment process, as compared to only two-thirds of all other organizations.

“The findings on the importance of the candidate experience validate what we’ve known and practiced with our clients for years,” said Dwaine Maltais, senior vice president of e-Recruiting Solutions. “Many of Hodes iQ’s features including our jobs optimization and social media connection tools—to our award-winning career sites and built-in candidate relationship management features—were all developed to deliver on this principle.”

The report is a must read for today’s talent acquisition leaders and provides valuable insight into several key areas of the talent lifecycle including:

• How to make your candidate and hiring manager experience a top priority

• The importance of your employment brand and onboarding, and the impact both have on your post hire performance metrics

• How emerging technologies can create innovative ways for companies and candidates to find each other and communicate

• Why quality of hire is critical in your HR analytics big picture

“Given the importance of attracting, nurturing, hiring and retaining top quality talent, a strong employer brand is magnified greatly,” said Kevin Martin, Aberdeen Group vice president and principal HCM research analyst. “And while Best-in-Class organizations are focused on building the strongest pipeline of qualified candidates, they are also steadfast on creating the best-possible experience for candidates and extending that experience into the reality of the job once onboard.”

Whether your organization is already Best-in-Class or you’re looking for ways to maximize your talent acquisition technology, tools, resources and team, this report will help you shape and measure the success of your talent strategy.
