Seven out of 10 Business Executives Agree Their Organizations Would Benefit From HR Teams Made up of Professionals with Certifications

ALEXANDRIA, Va., October 3, 2017 — Seven out of 10 business executives agree that their organizations would benefit from having human resource management departments made up of professionals with HR certifications, finds new research conducted by Dow Jones Customer Intelligence in collaboration with HR Certification Institute(R) (HRCI(R)). HRCI is responding with group certification packages to help businesses get the most out of talent managers to minimize workplace risk, adapt to change and grow the most important asset of a company — its people.

“With HRCI group certification packages, organizations can raise the overall standard of performance from HR teams to create more high-performance business outcomes,” said John Lunde, Chief Business Development Officer at HRCI. “As leading executives note, HR professionals are increasingly critical to fueling a company’s success.”

HRCI group certification packages are now fully supported by an expanded business development team and on the HRCI website, providing organizations with a dedicated space to explore group certification opportunities. A new online magazine, HRCInsights, has also been added to provide an organizational view on deriving greater strategic value from HR initiatives. The magazine cover talent management issues, from minimizing employment-related risks and managing change to developing strategies that meet business goals.

HR Is Now a Bottom-Line Challenge for Executives

Executive appetite for HR certification comes at a time when the C-suite ranks “talent strategy and employee engagement” only behind “financial growth,” “customer experience” and “new technology adoption” as top business concerns, according to the survey of 300 business executives. The study also finds that 95 percent of executives believe that the hiring and retaining of the right talent directly affects a company’s bottom line. In addition, 83 percent of the business executives surveyed said they regard their HR team as a strategic and valuable partner.

“HR is most successful when companies raise the bar on talent management skills across the board,” said HRCI CEO Dr. Amy Schabacker Dufrane, SPHR, CAE. “Smart company leaders are looking to elevate the overall IQs of their talent management resources as a way to gain new competitive advantages from their people.”

Group Certifications for All HR Levels

To meet the needs of HR professionals with various levels of HR experience, HRCI has a suite of seven fully accredited credentials that practitioners can earn — from entry- to executive-level, as well as U.S.- and internationally focused certifications. Students, new HR managers and non-HR managers can also earn an associate credential to demonstrate foundational HR knowledge — a requirement for a growing number of line managers who are called on today to help companies keep pace with emerging workplace challenges.

Each HRCI credential is constantly updated to help organizations adapt to changing employee and workplace challenges.
