WorldatWork Salary Budget Survey Turns 40 Now open for participation until May 3

April 2, 2013 — SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. — The “WorldatWork Salary Budget Survey,” the largest and longest-running survey of its kind, turns 40 this year. The survey was born in 1973 to help organizations with strategic compensation planning and pay increase recommendations. Survey respondents are WorldatWork members employed in the HR, compensation and benefits departments of large, multinational organizations.

Last year, WorldatWork received 4,000 responses from 13 countries representing more than 17 million employees. This year, the survey is expanding to include Belgium, Italy, Mexico and Switzerland.

The “WorldatWork 2012-2013 Salary Budget Survey” forecasted that 2013 salary increases will be lowest in the United States, Spain and Japan and highest in India, China and Brazil. WorldatWork data show that the average salary budget increases for the U.S. and Canada this year is 3.0% and 3.1%, respectively. Salary budget increases in North America have been declining steadily since 1981 when the average increase was at an all-time high of 10.5%.
