HealthcareSource Acquires TestSource

CHICAGO, IL — November 8, 2010 — HealthcareSource®, the leading provider of talent management software solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced that it has acquired TestSource®, a leading provider of behavioral-based, pre-employment assessments for the healthcare industry. The announcement was made during Talent Outcomes™, the HealthcareSource 2010 User Conference being held this week at the Chicago Marriott Downtown. TestSource’s healthcare industry assessment and retention solutions include the Healthcare Selection Inventory® and the Healthcare Leadership Inventory®.

“Healthcare reform will create more focus on patient satisfaction and outcomes, and more demand for talent,” said Peter Segall, CEO, HealthcareSource. “Healthcare organizations just simply cannot get by using the same old methods for selecting talent. That is why we have invested so much this year in technologies to help our clients on the effective screening and selection of top healthcare talent. Our clients have consistently told us that hiring for “fit” is a critical strategy for talent acquisition, so we felt that by embracing this solution and completely integrating it into our leading Position Manager® applicant tracking solution, we could better help healthcare organizations respond to industry pressures.”

TestSource and HealthcareSource have worked together for over five years and share over 100 integrations. The newly combined entity has approximately 1,300 hospital clients. The TestSource division will continue to operate out of Grand Rapids, Mich. and will integrate sales, service, and development approaches with HealthcareSource over time. Both Mark Wiersma and Rich Korc, founders of TestSource, will remain as integral leaders with HealthcareSource.

“Our companies are very similar — we both focus exclusively on healthcare, have high client satisfaction and retention, and provide high touch services at a fair price,” said Mark Wiersma, co-founder of TestSource. “We have a strong, long-standing working partnership and our clients have consistently encouraged us to create tighter and tighter integration between our products. Joining HealthcareSource makes sense for both our clients and our employees.”

The TestSource Healthcare Selection Inventory (HSI) is a behavioral-based, pre-employment assessment designed to increase new-hire retention, identify service-oriented applicants, and provide interviewers with a structured, behavioral-based interview process. The HSI has been designed and validated to identify top performers for five Job Families: Nursing, Patient Care, Entry-Level Service, Administrative/Clerical, and Technical/Professional.

The TestSource Healthcare Leadership Inventory (HLI) is a behavioral assessment that evaluates critical Healthcare Leadership Competencies including critical thinking. The HLI is designed to identify the individuals who are most likely to succeed as Healthcare Leaders and develop incumbent leaders by prescribing specific solutions to enhance on-the-job performance.

Beaumont Hospitals, a top healthcare provider with nearly 20,000 employees, has been a long time client of both HealthcareSource and TestSource. “Both companies understand healthcare,” said Linda Kruso, Director of Workforce Planning, Beaumont Hospitals. “That is what distinguishes both HealthcareSource and TestSource. And, both companies are very customer oriented and make things so easy. The solutions also work well together — it is so much easier to status candidates, screen candidates, and keep track of candidates — the two tools together have streamlined processes considerably.”

HealthcareSource will continue to support and expand its integrations with other testing and assessment providers as well as continue to support HSI and HLI integration with other applicant tracking software vendors.

The acquisition was completed last week. Specific terms were not announced.
