Interaction Associates With New Boston Office Geared to Helping Clients Develop Facilitative Leaders Venerable Firm Relocates to Boston's Seaport District

Boston, MA – The 40-year innovator of advanced methods for developing collaborative, strategic leaders, Interaction Associates, is relocating its East Coast headquarters to Boston’s Seaport district, the newly revitalized area that is drawing a growing array of business, trade, and cultural organizations.

Interaction Associates helps clients achieve strong results by developing leaders who are adept at solving complex problems and achieving excellent results by leveraging the power of people working together successfully. Since 1969, IA has partnered with leading companies across many industries globally to transform leadership at every level in the enterprise.

“Our new Boston office is designed to foster collaboration by providing employees with a workspace that reflects our commitment to collaborative action,” said Linda Dunkel, President and CEO of Interaction Associates. “We have developed many of the most innovative collaboration methods in business that are used by clients to develop leaders, foster great teams, and help companies achieve important strategic and competitive advantages,” added Dunkel.

In 2008, The Wall Street Journal profiled Interaction Associates in conjunction with the relocation of its West Coast headquarters in San Francisco.

IA’s new Boston office is at The Seaport Center located at 70 Fargo Street, and the company will share the space with the Interaction Institute for Social Change, the non-profit institute that IA founded and continues to support with 10% of its pretax profits. The IISC provides network-building, consulting, facilitation, and training services to leaders and organizations in the non-profit and public sectors — developing their collaborative capacity to achieve greater social impact.

The hub of the new Boston office will be a “Collaboration Zone,” featuring a mix of group space, cafe-style seating, and a collaborative mediascape — all designed to promote face-to-face collaboration as well as virtual collaboration with clients and colleagues.

Interaction Associates showed its strong commitment to green design and a healthy working environment for all its associates by insisting on a sustainable design for the project. During the design process, a conscious effort was made to use products with recycled content, as well as regional materials manufactured within a 500-mile radius. Wood products were selected in accordance with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) principles and criteria for responsible forest management. Low-emitting materials were selected, including healthy paints, adhesives, and sealants, as well as furniture that is Green Guard certified.

Boston’s Seaport District is one of the cities fast-changing and dynamic areas —once known for warehouses, fish piers, and shipping tracks, the Seaport is in the process of re-inventing itself. It is now home to The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, The Institute of Contemporary Art, The World Trade Center, and several new luxury hotels and residences.
