iVantage Helps USO Help Men and Women in Uniform

United Service Organizations (USO) Addresses Global-Specific Employee Workforce Challenges with SPECTRUM’s Hosted iVantage® HRIS

Denver, Colo.—April 30, 2010— SPECTRUM Human Resource Systems Corporation, the leader in fully integrated HRIS for mid-market national and global firms, announces that the USO has selected iVantage to improve the management of its applicant and employee data in a single system of record.

The USO, based in Arlington, VA, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support our men and women in uniform by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services. They currently employ a multinational workforce operating in more than 140 locations around the globe, including the United States, Germany, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Qatar, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Guam and Kuwait. U.S. service members and their families visit USO centers more than 6.9 million times each year.

Like many HR organizations today, the USO was faced with pressure to increase productivity and control labor costs while still providing superior service to employees, managers, executives and applicants. The incumbent HRIS proved to be neither integrated nor sustainable. Sloan Gibson, president and CEO of the USO explains, “The USO is continuously looking for ways to build consistent and seamless HR systems and processes across regions and countries in which we operate. We needed an HR Information System that enables a global reach, giving us the capacity to build consistent information management, robust reporting and functionality and security matched to the users’ needs.”

Sybll Romley, SPECTRUM president and CEO comments, “The USO needed tools to more effectively manage global employee data, improve HR processes and create an environment of instant, credible reporting. We are excited that iVantage will play such a significant role in another highly respected organization such as the USO.”

The USO will deploy iVantage’s core HRIS and position control, benefits administration, applicant tracking, candidate self service, performance management, manager self service and employee self service functionality. Gibson continues, “We conducted a thorough search for an HRIS and were impressed with the iVantage capacity—from the user-friendly web interface, the ability to track data for our global workforce, the capability to build automated workflow, and the self-service features of the system.”

Beyond seeking a best-in-class HRIS, the USO also required a solution that provided secure and cost-effective hosting services. “The iVantage technology will be a critical element in standardizing and streamlining HR processes and creating new means to better and more efficiently support the USO’s needs,” Gibson said.
