New York Business Group on Health Elects American Express, Unilever Benefit Executives to its Board of Directors

NEW YORK, January 14, 2010 — The New York Business Group on Health, a non-profit coalition of 150 businesses in the New York Metropolitan area, announced today the election of two corporate benefit executives to its board of directors, effective January 1, 2010. The new directors are Vincent De Cicco of Unilever and Anita Shaughnessy of American Express.

“We are thrilled that Vinnie and Anita have agreed to join our very distinguished board of directors and help our members address the critical health care benefit issues they are facing,” said Laurel Pickering, Executive Director of the New York Business Group on Health. “Both have a strong track record in helping to design and implement cost effective and high quality health care benefit programs, and we look forward to their valuable contributions in the years ahead.”

Vincent De Cicco is the Manager of Health and Welfare Benefits for Unilever and assists the Director, Benefits North America with the development, oversight, administration, communication and measurement of the Unilever United States health and welfare benefit plans for approximately 12,000 active and 14,000 retired employees. He has 15 years of employee benefits corporate and consulting experience including five years of actuarial consulting. Mr. De Cicco earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University at Albany, State University of New York.

Anita Shaughnessy is the Vice President of Healthcare Strategy for American Express where she is responsible for planning and implementing health, disability and voluntary benefits for the company’s U.S. based employees and their dependents. She was also responsible for directing the implementation of Healthy Living, a new integrated health management program. Ms. Shaughnessy holds a Master of Education degree from Springfield College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Russell Sage College. She is a member of the Health Enhancement Research Organization and the World at Work organization.
