Pittsburgh, 5.7.13 – Esteban Tristan, Ph.D., Safety Practice Manager and Senior Consultant at Select International will present at the 2013 New Mexico Mine Health and Safety Conference in Socorro, New Mexico May 6-8.

Tristan will present, “The Psychology of Safety: Using Safety DNA to Hire & Develop a Safer Workforce” which will provide an overview of the latest research in predicting workplace injuries by focusing on each employee’s individual Safety DNA. He will also define the term “Safety DNA” and discuss how recent advances in psychometric testing makes it possible to measure an employee’s Safety DNA in order to: develop a safer workforce and hire employees who will engage in safer behaviors that support a strong safety culture.

The three-day conference is being held at the Macey Conference Center. This year’s theme is “Everyday Heroes”, encouraging everyone to be a safety hero at work and at home every day.

“We believe better safety starts with the individual,” Tristan said. “In conjunction with the overall theme of this year’s conference, we hope to create and encourage safety hero behavior with our program.”
