The costs of audits and lawsuits are significant. For cases related to external hiring, the average out-of-court settlement is $590,266 per Equal Employment Opportunity Commission case and $668,785 per Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs case. In situations where cases go to trial and are ruled in favor of the plaintiff, the average cost to the organization is more than $13 million.

“In light of the potential risks, it’s critical that a company work with a vendor who ensures that pre-hire assessments are done the right way,” said SkillSurvey Director of Business Development Brian Gilbert, who will present the webinar. “Specifically, companies should ask whether assessments are reviewed by industrial and organizational psychologists to be sure that they are reliable, valid and free of bias.”

Gilbert leads SkillSurvey’s outreach efforts in providing educational content and thought leadership to its alliance partners, group purchasing organizations, and national/state professional organizations. He presents educational material around the country to a wide variety of audiences.

The webinar has been approved for 1 (General) recertification credit hour toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
