Vice-Chairman of Rideau Board Keynotes Annual RPI Conference

Montreal and New York City, April 12th, 2010 — Former Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson will keynote Recognition Professionals International‘s 13th annual conference in Henderson, Nevada, outside of Las Vegas, April 26th.

Governor Arne Carlson, currently Vice-Chairman of Rideau Board of Directors and Chairman Emeritus of River Source Funds, will be presenting his case for a new generation of recognition born in the aftermath of the economic downturn.

In March 2007, Governor Carlson was named the industry’s “Outstanding Mutual Fund Director of America.” When asked who were the Minnesota “great” political leaders during the 20th century, Minnesotans named Hubert Humphrey, Governor Carlson (1991-1999) and Walter Mondale, in that order. Prior to his term as Governor, Mr. Carlson served as Minnesota State Auditor from 1978 through 1990.

Through his experience and knowledge, conference attendees will develop a greater understanding of the workforce of the future including how recognition will need to become an integral part of the corporate agenda for businesses to surmount times of uncertainty as well as achieve sustainable success.

“We’ve been through some very difficult times; we may be getting out of it, but not without some scrapes and scratches. The years ahead will set the tone for the future. Recognition is going to play a crucial role, but we have to learn how to bring it to the forefront of the agenda,” said Governor Carlson.

The RPI conference is not only the association’s annual meeting designed to deliver educational opportunities to attendees, the numerous conference networking opportunities also encourage attendees to meet, exchange ideas and expand their reach globally with Recognition Professionals from all over the world.
