Wonderlic General Counsel is Invited Speaker at ATP: Innovations in Testing Conference

Dr. David Arnold has been invited to discuss the Supreme Court opinion in Ricci v. De Stefano and whether the ruling really impacts many employers.

Libertyville, IL — January 20, 2010 – With the number of unemployed US workers at an all-time high, selecting a new hire can be daunting. More employees than ever before are looking for jobs, and hiring the best candidate while avoiding discrimination is a challenge many HR managers are concerned about.

A 2009 US Supreme Court case has created some confusion regarding the appropriate use of hiring and promotional procedures. The Association of Test Publishers (ATP) Innovations in Testing 2010 Conference on February 7-10 will provide a forum for industry professionals to discuss this important case.

Dr. David Arnold, General Counsel for Wonderlic, Inc., as well as ATP, will be speaking at the February 8th session “The Ricci Case: Matters and Myths for Testing”, and will provide a legal analysis of Ricci v. De Stefano. The presentation will cover the issues raised and addressed by the Ricci case.

“Extensive confusion stems from the wealth of conjecture and misinformation disseminated regarding this opinion,” states Dr. Arnold. “The presentation at the ATP conference will provide employers with a clear understanding of the Ricci opinion, which in reality has minimal impact on most private sector employers.”
