Staff Management Named as Finalist for Best Overall Company of the Year in 7th Annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business

CHICAGO, October 25, 2010 — Staff Management, the industry’s leading provider of sustainable temporary staffing and contingent workforce management solutions, announced today that it was named a Finalist in two categories in the 7th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business including the Best Overall Company of the Year – Service Businesses — Up to 2,500 Employees category. More than 1,200 entries — a record for the competition – were submitted this year for consideration in 54 categories.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honors women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run — worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York on Friday, November 12. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S.A and several other countries are expected to attend. The presentations will be broadcast live on radio in the U.S.A. by the Business TalkRadio Network.

Staff Management was selected as a finalist as a result of company performance during the eligibility period — July of 2009 through July of 2010. During this period, Staff Management’s Chief Operating Officer, Joan Davison, and her talented, tenured and diverse executive team focused on a client loyalty strategy to weather the economic crisis. This strategy paid off with 100% client retention in 2009 and a 38.7% increase in revenues between July of 2009 and July 2010 as Staff Management’s clients recognized its loyalty with expanded opportunities and referrals.

During the eligibility period Staff Management continued its global expansion into Latin America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific Region and was ranked the #1 MSP provider in breadth of services and size of deals on the prestigious HRO Today magazine’s MSP Baker’s Dozen. In July of 2010 it was announced that Staff Management had achieved its best ever ranking on the Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) list of largest US staffing firms. Staff Management was ranked the 37th largest staffing provider out of the approximately 6,000 staffing providers in the US which represented a nearly 20% jump up the much anticipated list of largest firms.

In addition to company achievements, Staff Management’s COO, Joan Davison, achieved several significant individual accomplishments during the eligibility period. In October of 2009, Davison was appointed to the Board of Directors of Staff Management’s parent company, SeatonCorp. Davison was the first woman to join the Board. In March of 2010 Davison was invited to address the Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) Executive Forum and was appointed to the SIA Advisory Group.

Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging. Members of the Awards’ Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.

“It was harder than ever to be recognized in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business this year,” said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. “Receiving a high score from the judges this year illustrates how well many women in business are doing despite the stiff challenges they face.”

“We are thrilled to be in such good company as a finalist in this year’s Stevie for Women in Business” said Davison. “We congratulate all of our fellow finalists and commend the Stevie Awards for their efforts to raise the profile of women entrepreneurs and executives and women-owned and -run organizations worldwide.”
